This patented fabric for the Evolution series is designed to provide premium protection and durability. The fabric walls are made with a unique water-repellent treatment integrated into the fibers themselves, which ensures long-lasting waterproofness. Unlike other roof tents that rely on thin top layers that can crack or peel over time, this fabric is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions.

Thanks to its properties of preventing UV radiation, the fabric effectively protects you from harmful solar radiation and at the same time maintains a pleasant temperature in the interior. The high-quality microporous acrylic material reflects sunlight, reducing heat absorption and keeping the tent cool on hot days. In addition, the fabric is designed to be breathable, which promotes ventilation and prevents condensation.

Every detail of the fabric is perfectly thought out for optimal performance. The zipper runners are coated with rubber to improve grip and minimize scraping noise, even in strong winds. The double stitching of the edges of the fabric guarantees exceptional strength and durability.It also ensures that your tent will last for years of use. With an emphasis on waterproofness and tightness, the entrances close with a Velcro strip that creates a secure seal.

Light inside the tent is provided by the James Baroud Portable Light.The USB-rechargeable lithium battery allows several hours of operation before recharging.

In addition, the tents are equipped with several pockets that can be easily attached to the ceiling using a reliable velcro strap. These pockets offer a safe and accessible way to store your phone, small gear and other essentials within reach whenever needed.

Even when closed, shell roof tents have 20 cm of vertical space. This is enough to store two sleeping bags or blankets, two pillows, two sets of nightclothes and a James Baroud ladder.

When closing the tent, make sure there is nothing in the corners where the mechanisms fit to avoid damaging the tent shell.

James Baroud shell tents are equipped with a reliable lock system that ensures maximum safety and comfort during your outdoor adventures. Evolution locks are honestly designed to prevent accidental opening. To unlock and open the locks, it is necessary to exert strong pressure on the locking pin on both sides and pull upwards at the same time. This ingenious mechanism ensures that the locks remain securely locked even in rough terrain and strong winds. For added security, the locks can also be easily padlocked, which provides an additional option to protect your belongings.

All locks must be opened before lifting the tent cover. This ensures that the locks are properly released and the tent can be lifted effortlessly. The rear locks should be opened first to avoid damage.

The included James Baroud ladder adapts to the height of your vehicle, reaches a length of up to 2.4 m, can hold up to 200 kg and has non-slip, ergonomically designed steps. The legs are rubberized for a firm grip in different terrain, the construction allows the ladder to bend slightly when moving the tent, so it does not damage the shell when securing it in place.

The roof tents are equipped with a reliable locking mechanism for attaching the ladder to both sides of the tent. Designed with durability in mind, the locking mechanism utilizes high-quality aluminum construction and offers a lightweight yet robust solution. Once locked in place at the desired angle, the ladder stays securely attached even when moving around inside the tent or in strong winds.   

The ladder comes with a practical PVC bag that provides protection from sand, mud and water during transport.In addition, the ladder can be easily stored inside when closing the tent, thus saving valuable space.

You can also order the optional James Baroud XL ladder, which has the same load capacity but extends to a length of 3m.

James Baroud Clamps have been redesigned to provide a versatile mounting solution for your roof tent. With an adjustable width range from 30mm to 85mm (1.18″ to 3.35″), the tent can be securely attached to your vehicle's roof rails or roof rack.

These clamps are made of rust-free, frost-resistant, high-density polymer and are designed to provide a safe and reliable attachment of the roof tent, even when overcoming difficult terrains and extreme roads. With a torque resistance of 14 Nm (10.32 lb-ft), they ensure a firm tent attachment and peace of mind on off-road adventures. Each James Baroud tent comes with three sets of mounting clamps, for a total of six clamps, and additional clamps can be ordered separately for more flexibility in your attachment.

The lower shell of the tent is equipped with a pair of fastening bars, which are located in the middle of the lower part of the tent and the distance between them is 65 cm. These specially designed rails are compatible with James Baroud clamps and allow easy attachment to any roof rack or cross member. The safe and versatile mounting system ensures a secure attachment of the roof tent to the vehicle.

For optimal mounting, we recommend that your vehicle has at least two load-bearing crossbars for occasional camping and three load-bearing crossbars for off-road trips. The support bars should have a dynamic load capacity of 45 kg (100 lb) each. The assembly process is simple and only requires a 6 mm hex key as the only tool.

James Baroud offers a 5 year warranty covering fiberglass, mechanism, canvas, tent poles, ladder and fixings, zips, mosquito netting, mattresses, rails and fixings, top shell upholstery.

The laminate finish, solar fan, LED light and tent locks are covered by a standard 2-year warranty.
In the case of a warranty repair request, an invoice and a photo or video recording of the defect will be required.
Parts and tent fabrics are available for many years, even after the warranty expires. Each tent is equipped with a serial number, so the manufacturer knows which spare parts fit even after many years.
